Our Story 

While working in maintenance at a local manufacturing plant in Greenwood and looking for supplemental income for his family of six, Roy Brooks began working with a friend as an electrician’s helper. As his knowledge grew and demand grew, Roy launched out on his own in 1992 and Brooks Electric was born. Throughout the early years Roy employed the help of Brenda, his wife, and his four children, and built his company on quality workmanship, personal integrity, and great customer service. Brenda and both of their boys, Jason and Joshua continue as part of the company today.

The 1990’s were a great period of building new houses and Brooks Electric did a lot of new construction. This period was great for giving Jason and Joshua a lot of experience and insight into residential construction. As time trucked on Jason and Joshua pursued other careers while continuing to help Brooks Electric on a part-time basis, and Roy continued his education, acquiring his Journeyman and Master licenses. Brooks Electric has managed to thrive through various economical changes due to the foundation laid by Roy and Brenda.  

Today, Roy, Brenda, and Joshua share ownership of the company with Roy functioning as the president of the company. He has retired from the daily operational grind, but remains as the leader of the company. Joshua manages the day to day operations as Brooks Electric continues to offer quality workmanship and great service!
